Planning Center iOS WEB
Bring a service plan into QMe as a setlist, with every song in the plan's key. This is an import from Planning Center into QMe. QMe reads your plans; it never changes anything in Planning Center.
Where it lives: in the app, under Tools or from Playlists → Import from Planning Center (QMe 1.36 or later), and in the web console at qmeprompter.com under Import / Export. Both do the same thing, and a plan imported in one place appears everywhere you are signed in.
Connect Planning Center
App: Tools → Planning Center · Web console: Import / Export → Planning Center → Connect Planning Center
You sign in on Planning Center's own page and approve QMe, the same way you would approve any app on your account. Nothing from Planning Center is typed into QMe. Once connected, QMe shows the name of your church's account at the top of the Planning Center window so you know which account you are looking at.
The connection is to Planning Center Services, read only. If the connection expires, QMe tells you and offers to connect again.
Pick a plan
Planning Center window → your service types → a plan
QMe lists your service types (Sunday Morning, Youth, Midweek and so on) with their upcoming plans, up to six per service type. If a service type has nothing coming up, its three most recent past plans are shown instead so you can still work from last week.
Tap a plan to see what is in it before you import anything: each song with its author, the key the plan calls for, and whether the arrangement has a chart. Headers are shown between the songs exactly as they sit in the plan.
Two things to look for on the preview. A song marked no chart will be imported with an empty page, ready for you to paste or type a chart. And if the chart was written in a different key from the one the plan asks for, QMe says so, and will transpose it for you on import.
Import
Plan preview → Import
One tap. QMe works through the plan in order and tells you which song it is adding. When it finishes it opens the new setlist.
What you get:
- One setlist, named from the plan's date and title (or its series, or the service type name if the plan has no title). The service type name is stored as the venue.
- Sets inside the setlist, one per header in the plan. A header called "Pre-service" followed by two songs becomes a set called Pre-service holding those two songs. Plans with no headers become a single set.
- A song for every song item, filed in a book called Planning Center. The book is created the first time and reused after that.
What each song carries across:
- Title, and the author as Planning Center lists it.
- The plan's key. If the arrangement's chart was written in another key, the chords are transposed into the plan's key so what you see on stage matches what the plan says.
- The chord chart, read into QMe's sections. Planning Center charts in either ChordPro or chords-over-lyrics are understood, and section headings such as Verse 1, Chorus and Bridge become QMe sections.
- Tempo (BPM) and length, where the arrangement has them. Length feeds the running time on the setlist.
- The CCLI number, kept with the song.
Refreshing a plan that changed
Planning Center window → the same plan → Import again
Plans change during the week. Import the same plan again and QMe updates the setlist you already have rather than making a second one: same name, new order, new sets if the headers moved.
Songs are reused, not duplicated. A song already imported from the same Planning Center arrangement in the same key is used as is, including any edits you made to it in QMe. A song in a new key, or a new arrangement, is added fresh.
Your edits are safe, and they stay in QMe. Because this is a one-way import, anything you change in QMe (a cleaned-up chart, a note, a different tempo) is never written back to Planning Center, and the next import will not overwrite a song it already has in that key.
Disconnect
Planning Center window → Disconnect
Disconnecting removes QMe's access to your Planning Center account. Songs and setlists you have already imported stay in QMe. You can connect again at any time.
What is not imported
So there are no surprises on Sunday:
- Items that are not songs or headers (announcements, media, videos, notes between songs) are left out. The setlist holds the songs, in order, grouped by the headers.
- Attachments on a song (PDFs, audio, backing tracks) are not fetched. Only the arrangement's chord chart text comes across.
- Nothing goes back. This is an import into QMe, not a two-way sync. Key changes, chart fixes and notes you make in QMe stay in QMe.
- Team scheduling, plan times and people are not part of this. QMe only looks at the songs and headers in a plan.
Once the plan is in, it is an ordinary QMe setlist. Run it with a foot pedal or voice-follow, fire MIDI patch changes per song, put it on Even Realities G2 glasses, or have the whole team follow along in Jam Mode. See Setlists for running the show.
QMe is free to download. A new account gets 30 days of full access, no card required.
