A lyrics app for worship teams that works with Planning Center
For a worship team on Planning Center, QMe Prompter connects to your church's account once and brings any service plan in as a setlist: every song in the plan's key with its chord chart, tempo and length, in order, with your headers as sets. On Sunday the words follow the singer's voice on the iPad or on smart glasses. Here is how it fits the week.
The week, with QMe in it
- Monday: the plan is built in Planning CenterSame as now. Songs, keys, arrangements, headers. Nothing changes for whoever plans.
- Thursday: the team imports itOpen QMe, Tools, Planning Center, pick Sunday's plan, import. Every chart arrives in the plan's key. Change the plan later and import again; the setlist updates in place.
- Rehearsal: run it from the setlistSongs in order, sections on a strip down the side, chords over the words. Link a song to Apple Music or attach a track and rehearse with the recording locked to the words.
- Sunday: heads upThe singer's iPad follows their voice. The band reads the same chart. Whoever leads can keep the words in front of their eye on Even Realities G2 glasses and look at the congregation.
Where the charts come from
QMe reads the chart from the arrangement in Planning Center, whether it is ChordPro or chords written above the lyrics. Charts you imported into Planning Center from SongSelect come across with the plan, through your church's own licence, so the CCLI song stays where it is licensed. A chart written in a different key from the plan is transposed on the way in. Attached PDFs are not read; the chart has to be in Lyrics and Chords.
Music Stand, ProPresenter and QMe
Planning Center's Music Stand shows the chart as a page. ProPresenter puts lyrics on the screen for the congregation. QMe is the third thing: a teleprompter for the people on the platform, where the words move with the singer and nobody turns a page. Many teams keep Planning Center as the plan of record, ProPresenter for the room, and QMe on stage.
Voice Follow in a worship setting
The singer's iPad needs to hear mainly the singer. Ask the sound team for a dry aux send of the lead vocal into the iPad through a small audio interface; QMe shows a level meter to set it. For songs led by someone else, or for long instrumental worship moments, that song can run on tempo or a pedal instead, and the setting is remembered per song.
Privacy and permissions
Sign-in happens on Planning Center's own page. QMe asks for Services only and only reads it; it never writes to your Planning Center account, and you can disconnect from the same screen at any time. Songs already imported stay in QMe.
What it costs a team
QMe is free to download and each account gets 30 days of full access. After that, Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription per account. A team usually has one Pro account for the leader's iPad and lets the rest follow along.
Questions musicians ask
Does QMe replace Planning Center?
No. Planning Center stays the plan of record. QMe reads the plan and turns it into a setlist for the stage.
Do our SongSelect charts come through?
Charts you imported from SongSelect into Planning Center's Lyrics and Chords come across with the plan. QMe has no direct SongSelect connection today.
What if the plan changes during the week?
Import it again. The setlist updates in place and songs already imported from the same arrangement in the same key are reused, so nothing doubles up.
Can the whole band see the same chart?
Yes. Group Jam syncs everyone's screen over Wi-Fi, and anyone without the app can follow in a browser at qmeprompter.com.
