Switching from OnSong

How to move your songs from OnSong to QMe

OnSong exports ChordPro, and QMe imports ChordPro in bulk. So your library moves in one go rather than song by song. Here is exactly how, and an honest account of what does and does not come with it.

How to do it

  1. Export from OnSong as ChordProSelect the songs you want and export them as ChordPro. You will get files ending in .chordpro, .cho, .pro, .crd or .txt.
  2. Open the QMe web consoleGo to qmeprompter.com on a computer and sign in with your QMe account.
  3. Open the ChordPro importerOpen the Import / Export menu and choose Import ChordPro.
  4. Add all your files at onceIt takes the whole export in bulk, not one song at a time. QMe reads the chords and lyrics and builds a song from each file.

What comes across

What does not

QMe does not read an OnSong backup or archive file directly. The route is ChordPro, which OnSong exports natively. If you are coming from SongBook Pro instead, that one is a single-file import and your MIDI does come across.

What you get once you are across

Try it before you move anything

QMe is free to download, and a new account gets 30 days of full access with no card required. Bring a handful of songs across first and play a gig with it before you commit the whole library.

iPhone and iPad. Exporting from OnSong does not remove anything, so you can keep both while you decide.
